La Cala is very much a sports-oriented resort. We have three 18-hole championship golf courses, a quality par 3 course and host the only David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Spain. We have a full-size FIFA approved football pitch and attendant facilities, floodlit tennis courts, squash court and a gymnasium. We can also organise treks in the nearby mountains, mountain bike trips or horse riding.
The Costa del Sol is an outdoor sports playground with all tastes catered for. We are just minutes from the Hippodrome in Mijas with its weekly race meetings or the Mediterranean with its wide range of water sports.

HORSEBACK RIDING
There can be few better locations for horse riding than La Cala Resort. Its privileged position at the foot of the Mijas Mountains means that it has long been a favourite destination for organised treks on horseback. In fact horses play a very important role in traditional Spanish society and it is still a regular occurrence to see horses and carts, as well as individual or groups of riders on the country roads.
The resort is bordered by a number of riding establishments and we can organise whatever type of trek you want with a range of different levels of horses to choose from.
GYM AND SQUASH FACILITIES AT LA CALA RESORT
If you fancy staying in shape check out our gymnasium, located beside the changing rooms in the clubhouse.
We have a wide range of exercise bicycles and machines. You can also use our squash court. Afterwards take a relaxing sauna.
