News: Promotur Circuit at La Cala Resort

Over 60 players participated in the VII Promotur Circuit played on Campo America last Sunday 15th. The Promoters Association of Residential Tourism and Sports in Andalusia (PROMOTUR) is a non-profit business association which represents the main Andalusian companies involved in residential tourism and sports. La Cala Resort, as member of this association, was last year awarded with the Promotur Gold Medal in recognition to the excellence in developing one of the most successful golf resorts in Europe.

Juan Antonio Ruiz, from Estepona, was overall winner (40 points) followed by La Cala member, Francisco Cervilla with 37 points. In third position was Francisco Gómez Berrocal also scoring 37 points,but with a lower handicap allowance.

By winning this competition, Juan Antonio earned a place in the National Qualifying Final of the World Golfers Championship which will take place at the resort on Sunday August 22nd.

Although the main event was for Spanish Federated players, non-federated players were also admitted in a special category, and Dettina Groh won a guest prize, scoring 38 points

The day ended with a cocktail and a prize-giving ceremony. Many prizes, including hotel stays, tickets for the Andalucía Valderrama Masters, and golfing accessories were distributed.

Promotur Vice-president, Pascual Cervera, attended the event and emphasised the perfect organization at La Cala Golf in a Circuit that is growing every year.
