News: World Golfers Championship 2010

After hosting the qualifying events, La Cala Resort, the biggest golf complex in Spain, was the venue for the National Final of the World Golfers Championship, played on Campo America on Sunday August 22nd. The winners of this national final will make up the Spanish team to compete at the upcoming World Final in Cha-Am (Hua Hin) Thailand from 30th October to 6th November.

Over 30 countries will compete in the World Final in a competition designed to allow amateur players to experience the prestige of participating in a world class event.

Two world golf legends lend their support directly to this event:

Over 300 players competed in the 2010 Spanish qualifying stages for a place in the National Final in what is considered, at all levels, as the World Golf Championship for amateurs.

"Being officially recognized by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation as the biggest golf complex in Spain, with 60 holes of golf, we feel proud to be involved in promoting the sport throughout the country. 1st Category (hcp 0—5,4) Sara Navarro (Club de Golf La Siesta)
2nd Category (hcp 5.5—10.4) Adam Ford (La Cala Resort)
3rd Category (hcp 10.5—15.4) Pedro Antonio Corral (Real Sociedad Hípica y Club de Campo de Madrid)
4th Category (hcp 15.5—20.4) Eduardo Casasola Rueda (Añoreta Golf)
5th Category (hcp 20.5—25.4) Carlos Ruiz Castilla (Club de Golf El Chaparral)

The awards ceremony for the National Final was attended by Nils Nordh, chairman and CEO of World Golfers Championship. He was delighted with the organization of the event and thanked all the players for participating and congratulated the winners.
