News: AESGOLF Summer Circuit Final 2010

More than 100 players took part in the final of the AESGOLF Summer Circuit in La Cala Resort, Mijas, Málaga on Wednesday, 25th August. AESOLF is the national association is for men over 55 and women over 50.

The Summer Circuit offers a great opportunity for visiting golfers to enjoy some of the Costa del Sol’s finest courses during their holidays in the area and the majority of the competitors in the final were from Madrid and the north of Spain. For example nine of the 10 best results in the ladies category were made by players from Madrid (and by coincidence eight of them with the name of Maria!).

Circuit Winners with Cajamar Manager

Every Wednesday and Saturday in August. the Circuit has been played at different courses on “Costa del Golf”. Campo America, one of the resort´s three 18 hole golf courses, was the course chosen for the final. It is now a tradition for AESGOLF to hold the summer final at La Cala Resort. Edmundo Sánchez del Rio, the organiser of the circuit and delegate of AESGOLF in Andalucía, confirmed the intention to return in 2011. The participants praised the resort for its excellent organisation and marvellous buffet lunch they enjoyed after the golf.

1st category winner, Angel Mirat Marcos from Salamanca, stated that it has been his first year taking part in the circuit and that he had enjoyed not only the golf but also the social aspect where all players join in a lunch after the round together with the prize-giving.
