Laurence turned professional in 2002 off a scratch hcp and competed in mini tour events throughout the Middle East and Asia. The coaching side however remained his keen interest.
After being recruited by IMG in 2006, Laurence was trained directly by David Leadbetter and his Senior Instructors in Florida and Europe. As a Certified Leadbetter Instructor and British PGA Coach he has over 10 years coaching experience.
Laurence holds a BA Degree in Applied Golf Management Studies Degree from the University of Birmingham UK in association with the British PGA. Previous coaching positions held were at La Manga Club Spain, Leadbetter Golf Academy Austria and IMG Academies/Leadbetter Golf Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
His current and previous stable of players include Tour Pros from the various Spanish Satellite Tours, Challenge Tour, Europro Tour, Alps Tour and Ladies European Tour; as well as Junior National players from Slovakia, Poland, Egypt, Denmark, Sweden, Austria and Brazil.
Laurence does not employ a method only a philosophy – to shoot better scores and help better understand a person’s individual golf game. His main passion is to coach golf logically and to implement changes simply and efficiently to all levels of golfers.

Tom Coulson is our new teaching professional here at the David Leadbetter Academy, La Cala Resort, Spain.
Tom has 4 years experience in the professional ranks playing tours across Europe and America. Tom has held a ranking on the European Challenge Tour and won numerous professional events.
He also had a very successful amateur career in the U.K. He represented the England School of Excellence at Under 18 and Under 21 levels.
He still plays at a very high level. In 2007 he spent 3 years at the David Leadbetter Academy World Headquarters, Florida.
Tom has worked with some of the best coaches in the world throughout his own career such as, David Leadbetter, Kevin Smeltz, Dennis Pugh, Scott Cranfield and Johnathan Yarwood.
The knowledge Tom has gained from working with some of the best coaches in the world reflects in his teaching.
Tom has a very simple and effective approach to his teaching methods. He believes that each individual has his/her own swing and he likes to work with each person individually to get the most out of their game.
