The qualifying process starts in the home countries of the players through a series of qualifying rounds, divided into 5 categories according to handicap. The winning player from each category will represent his country in the Spanish team, and also at an individual level, in the world final.
The Tournament Patron is Arnold Palmer: “Golf is truly becoming a global sport and the World Golfers’ Championship is a great indication of this. It is a privilege for me to be a patron of this event and welcome players of all nationalities to this fantastic tournament.”
Severiano Ballesteros was the Honorary Chairman of the event’s Advisory Board. He said: “The concept of the World Golfers’ Championship is unique and important for all amateur golfers around the world. They have contributed and supported us professional golfers for decades. We owe them a lot!”
