At La Cala we’ve so much to offer to sports and fitness lovers, plus acres of gorgeous outdoor space to explore. Floodlit hard tennis court, squash court, a fitness centre and running circuits are all right here at the resort. You could try some aqua-aerobics or start the morning with a gentle yoga session.

FOOTBALL PITCH

La Cala’s training facility is situated within the grounds of the luxurious 4 Star resort which is located 20 minutes east of Marbella and only 30 minutes from Malaga Airport.
Malaga Airport is well served by all major airlines and from all major and peripheral cities in Europe making La Cala Resort a very accessible training destination as well as one of the most highly regarded hotels on the Costa del Sol.
We book the pitch to just one team at a time, so you have full and uninterrupted use of our facilities. With over 320 days of sunshine annually, our climate allows training throughout the year.

The Pitch
The exceptional facilities at La Cala Resort enable teams to train, work and relax in a private and select environment. The Pitch is exclusively aimed at professional sporting teams and is conducive with FIFA international professional standards. Located in a sheltered, fully enclosed section of La Cala Resort ensures both excellent pitch conditions and privacy.

Located at the heart of our resort, surrounded by three championship golf courses.
Other facilities available to complement training, including fitness centre, wellness activities, running circuit and spa.
Special football packages: full board rates for teams, dressing rooms/massage rooms, conference/meeting room facilities, etc.
Internationally recognised teams training at La Cala resort include: FC Porto (Portugal), Atlante FC (Mexico), Anderlecht (Belgium), Dynamo Moscow (Russia),NEC FC (Netherlands), Krylia Sovetov Samara(Russia), Peterborough United (UK), Leeds United (UK), the English U-21 squad, etc.

Tailored training camps

La Cala Resort appreciates that every professional sporting team has different requirements for training camps. La Cala Hotel aims to provide the ideal environment to enable both the management and players gain maximum benefit from their time away. Therefore we create custom-made camps, tailored to each team’s requests.

We also understand that preparation is the key to ensuring a successful training camp. By liaising with teams and identifying their key requirements and objectives well in advance, our careful planning and attention to detail ensures that expectations are consistently exceeded. All of the following factors are taken into account:

The pleasures of such a naturally beautiful place as La Cala Resort offer much to the outdoors.

The following activities many of which feature regularly in our weekly programme of events are available by appointment and take full advantage of the abundance of pursuits that we have to offer.

Pilates
A body‐conditioning technique designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. There are three different types of Pilates we are offering: postural alignment, with swizz ball and resistance bands.

Yoga
This flowing series heals and detoxifies the body and mind at their deepest levels creating transformation and dissolving blockages within. Some of the benefits a a yoga session would be to nourish and rejuvenate your body, build strength and flexibility, move stagnant energy, rebalance and stabilize emotions, focus and clear the mind.

Yogalates
Combine the best of Yoga and Pilates, with Yogalates. This low-impact workout develops your core strength and stabilization through pilates poses, and improve your flexibility, muscular strength, posture and alignment through yoga poses, breathing and relaxation.

Body Toning
Working overall strengthening and toning the body, allowing the body fat loss through different types of exercises.

Zumba
Zumba is a dance‐based fitness class that uses a fusion of Latin and International rhythms with easy‐to‐follow moves. It includes both cardio and resistance training components designed to tone and sculpt the entire body.

Aqua toning
The Aqua Toning class blends all the traditional aqua fitness disciplines into a safe, challenging, water‐based workout including cardio‐conditioning, body toning and most of all uplifting session.

Cardio Kickboxing
A group fitness class that combines martial arts techniques with fast-paced cardio. This high-energy workout challenges the beginner and elite athlete alike. Build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you build lean muscle with this fun and challenging workout.

Stretching
Physical exercises working out a specific muscle or tendon to flex or stretch them in order to improve the muscle’s felt elasticity and achieve comfortable muscle tone.
Therapeutic swimmingA set of exercises using the physical properties of water and a wide range of resourcer in order to improve the condition and capacity of each individual.

Aquagym
Aquatics sport athletic activities performed in or on the water by music, improving the general physical conditions and allowing better recovery from injuries, so it is suitable for people in rehabilitation processes. Really refreshing experience!

G.A.P (gluteus, abdomen & legs)
A set of exercises to strengthen and tone all three areas of the body, which are often the brunt of our body by a sedentary lifestyle and decreased body fat.

Circuit training
Circuit training is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using higher intensity aerobics. It targets strength building and muscular endurance. An exercise “circuit” is one completion of all prescribed exercises in the program. When one circuit is complete, one begins the first exercise again for the next circuit.

Indoor cycling
Indoor cycling, as an organized activity, is a form of exercise with classes focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity and recovery, and involves using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting. Muscular endurance, lower stress levels, enhance the body’s immune response or lower the risk of coronary artery disease would be some of the benefits with regard to Indoor

RUNNING CIRCUIT

La Cala has designed two running circuits around the Resort, so you can train in the open air. With 320 days of sunshine … who wouldn´t be motivated by the beautiful landscape and stunning scenery.
Both routes follow the buggy paths of two of the golf courses and share a small circuit between them, passing by the Clubhouse and finishing at the hotel.

Both circuits can only be used until 9:30AM.

Try our running lessons with a specialized trainer for 6€ per person (groups of at least 5 persons)

FITNESS AREA

Health and fitness are complementary concepts, so where better than our Fitness Centre or indoor swimming pool at La Cala Spa to complement your Spa & Wellness programme with a little exercise?

Our gymnasium at the Clubhouse is comprehensively equipped to include static bikes, cardio machines, a wide range of strength machines and free weights.

TENNIS & SQUASH

La Cala Resort offers you superb outdoor tennis facilities. Our wonderful climate and the hard floodlit courts let you play matches all year around, day or night.

At La Cala Resort, we aim to provide tennis for everyone. Adult and junior tennis players will find coaching programmes tailored to their needs and level. With our weekly tennis tournaments and friendly matches, we make it easy to meet fellow players and feel part of the friendly, inclusive atmosphere. There are also special terms for visiting tennis coaches and teams. Beginners and experienced players alike will find their perfect tennis holiday at La Cala.
